TO: All Starfleet Personnel
FROM: Admiral Benson Hanwright, Starfleet Intelligence
DATE: Stardate 10503.31
SUBJECT: Intelligence Report

Starfleet Command wishes to apologize for the misleading information in last month's report.  Abertura Station is not yet disbanding from the Federation, although Abertura's service status is still under consideration.  Several senior officers from the station are now travelling aboard the USS Quirinus to speak in front of the Federation Council. It is the intention of these officers to provide first-hand reports of the daily life aboard the unusual post that was once a strategic Dominion stronghold before it was placed under Starfleet control.

Admiral William Crenshaw, Starfleet Command
Admiral Benson Hanwright, Starfleet Intelligence

1st Fleet:

The USS Don Johnson has been ordered to pursue and apprehend Rear Admiral Angus MacLeod, who is the Sector Command Official assigned to Starbase 279. MacLeod is charged with 6 violations of Starfleet regulations and is officially listed by the Starfleet Criminal Investigative Service (SCIS) as a fugitive at large. MacLeod eluded custody while the Don Johnson was orbiting Earth, and with the assistance of an autonomous holographic program in his possession; managed to disable the Don Johnson’s command and control systems long enough to procure that ship’s only Type 11 shuttlecraft, the Midway, and effect his escape. After restoration of the command and control systems, the Don Johnson departed Earth, using long range tracking and warp signature acquisition and monitoring to lock in on the Midway, heading towards Orion space. The Don Johnson was able to overtake the shuttle, but had to resort to extraordinary means to bring it out of warp. Once the shuttle was secured in the bay and access was gained, it was discovered that MacLeod had abandoned the shuttle some nine hours earlier. Upon retracing the shuttle’s flight path, a second warp signature was detected, a signature identified with the transport vessel Roxanne. A search is currently underway to locate the FCT Roxanne.

Oberon Station, the homeport of the galaxy-class USS Vesuvius, has unofficially listed her as lost with all hands.  However, one last search has been executed for the Vesuvius before an official report is filed.  Prior searches have turn up no debris and no indication of what may have befallen the Vesuvius and her crew…

The USS Europa has just returned to the Sol System to undergo a major refit.  Having just returned from a deep space assignment, the crew will have some much needed leave, before being temporarily assigned to other duties.

2nd Fleet:

The crew of the USS Seleya has been cooling their heels on Earth and McKinley station, after the capture of Nadaras. She was the person who had killed the Seleya Commanding Officer's double during the time he was captive of a lunatic called LoDuca. Nadaras’s sister, Julienne Kurlaine was their contact, but it turned out that the two women were sisters, and Kurlaine’s husband was the Captain's double. Nadaras had taunted Kurlaine that if she had been around, her husband would still be alive. Because of this information, Kurlaine would have to answer to the Captain for her concealment of information. The crew has been questioned as to their impressions of Nadaras, and whether she would be hiding something since she was so complacent in being captured in the first place. Once the investigation is concluded, the Seleya will be sent on a new mission.

Following its assistance to the Federation freighter SS Hideki Maru, the USS Delphyne proceeded to its rendezvous with the science vessel Carter.  However, the Nova class Starfleet vessel was discovered missing.  A scan of the planetary system where it was last known to be turned up the lifesigns of the Carter’s crew, stranded on an arid but habitable world there.  The Delphyne rescued the crew and learned from the Carter’s captain that a Ferengi vessel approached them claiming mechanical difficulties and then, somehow, succeeded in beaming the 82 crew members of the Carter off their ship in a matter of a few seconds.  The Ferengi then made off with the Federation ship, along with an ancient artifact recently discovered by the Carter: An orb similar in appearance to the legendary “Stone of Gol”, the powerful and destructive Vulcan artifact.  The Delphyne is now in pursuit of the Ferengi and reports they will be upon them shortly.

After a pitched battle with an alien race identified as the Kzinti, the USS Pharaoh was en route to Tenarus Alpha for some much needed repairs when they intercepted a distress call from the USS Wolverine. Upon arrival, the crew was able to determine that there were no life signs aboard and the ship was devoid of power. Residue on her hull determined that she was attacked by the Kzinti. The Pharaoh is now continuing her way to Tenarus Alpha before resuming her search for the felinoid race.

The USS Arondight has recently completed its survey of an interstellar nebula as requested by the Daystrom Institute.  After a brief stop on Seta Station, the Arondight has been ordered back to Earth for personnel changes and preparation for reassignment to a new patrol sector.

The USS Apache is currently at Starbase 366 after returning from the Alpha/Gamma Quadrant border, having been stranded there while
traversing the Bajoran wormhole. The cause is currently unknown to Starfleet Command; the crew of the Apache is in the process of being debriefed. The Apache suffered extensive damage, however, and will have to be completely overhauled.

3rd Fleet:

The USS Hayden has reported the destruction of the USS Sagarica and that the negotiations in the Jolor system between the Talarisi and Koldaji
have been a complete failure. They suspect foul play from the Kolaji delegations. Starfleet Command will evaluate the evidence presented to be certain that this is not idle speculation.

Contact with the USS Elara was lost after they entered the Bebulari nebula. The nebula's unusual plasma currents make communication and scans impossible with any vessels inside its boundries. With three days now elapsed without communication, we are now launching efforts to regain contact with Elara.
Elara was sent to Bebulari as part of a joint exploration mission with the Acamarian government. Their objective was to explore the nebula where a group of Gatherers had once found an unusually high concentration of rare and valuable resources. Starfleet is working with the Acamarian Government to find out what could have happened based on ancient reports and logs on the nebula.

Despite their best efforts, the USS Triton is still searching for the missing orb and its jewels that were stolen from a secured Federation dig on Juhraya. It is believed that the thief is heading towards Earth, but an investigation is still underway. However, the map that Triton's civilian specialist recently procured has lead the crew to the Fire Plains on Vulcan where they found a lead box containing one of the gems.
Ambassador Syroc of Vulcan, and an engineering officer were also lost in a transporter malfunction. A series of systems problems that seem to be the result of a rodent infestation, is creating a lot of mishaps.  Exposure to a light dose of Gamma radiation has also turned the Caitain civilian's fur a bright green colour. Treatment is underway to prevent her hair from falling out now.
As the Triton left Vulcan heading towards the next point on the map, Andoria, a spatial anomaly appeared and a Tetrahedron ship momentarily appeared. As the crew prepared for battle, a bright light engulfed them and when it was all over, another five members of the Triton's crew had been found dead, their eyes, brain and all internal organs removed, but with the body showing no signs of any medical procedures to extract them. Attention is now turning to the science department to find out how and why the human population on the Triton is being targeted for murder.

The USS Nighthawk has returned to its original location where they were met by the USS Seahawk which had been sent to locate them.  There is some confusion over their report as they mention Admiral Harlan and other federation officers researching an unknown alien race called the Dokorst who live on a station 1/3 the size of Earth’s moon Luna.  Admiral Harlan is currently unavailable to confirm this or not.  The Dokorst have an ability to make a person believe what is not real.  Their reasons for testing this upon the crew of the Nighthawk are unknown as the experimentation was brought to a halt with some unsubstantiated dire warnings of something yet to come.  Debriefing is required to sort things out.

4th Fleet:

The USS Geneva is continuing with a first contact mission in the Brien'thi'op System.  An away team is on the planet Briengogh in preliminary talks with the JelonTek Corporation and Planetary Journalists Inc, exclusively.  Meanwhile, a second away team continues with their efforts to aid a Briengogh medical transport ship, which was on its way to a neighboring planet with ill Briengoghsians stricken with a form of radiation poisoning.  The Geneva and its crew are occupied with a Briengogh faster-than-light ship that departed from the USS Harkening, presumably the missing Aquaton ship, which lost its planet's race to space.

Even with the absence of the senior staff, all has proceeded with relative calm on Arcadia Station.  The senior staff remain on mission away from the station at this time. No updates on their mission status are available thus far.

In an unexpected flurry, the away team from Kootenai Station managed to retake the Defiant class USS San Carlo and capture the leader of the Trandarus Raiders and are now in the process of formulating a plan for taking over the entire pirate base of operations.  Crew of the USS San Carlo, including its captain, have been infected by the Florox virus and are in sickbay while the medical staff races against time to find a cure.  Information as to the exact location of the stolen vials of the Florox virus and its intended use has yet to be revealed.

The USS Huron has located a suitable planet for the relocation of inhabitants from the planet of Argonia II.  With very limited evacuation space available aboard a starship, some of the inhabitants were reluctant to leave the majority of their belongings behind and opted to stay on the planet until arrangements could be made to have those belongings transported to their new world.  As the crew of the Huron began the relocation process, arrangements were made with Starfleet Command to dispatch more vessels to help aid in the transport and relocation of the inhabitants of Argonia II and their belongings.  Further scans of the planet indicated that Argonia II would become unstable in approximately six weeks, allowing both the inhabitants and Starfleet personnel the time they would need to completely evacuate the planet.

The USS Pendragon sustained damage on her patrol of the Mammagamma system.  The details of the mission shall remain classified.  While the Pendragon underwent repairs at Deep Space 14, her senior crew successfully completed an important diplomatic contact on Ravenscar III, securing goodwill between the Federation and factions of the Kenti Council.  On their return aboard the Defiant class USS Pontifex, they were diverted to investigate the disappearance of the Vulcan science vessel Valeris.  As of this date, they have not yet reported in.  It is assumed their investigation remains ongoing.

The USS Dublin was dispatched to the Lacerta system to find the missing Saber class starship USS Gnu.  The Gnu had originally responded to a distress call from the now also missing USS Sirsus, a Nova class that was on its maiden voyage of scientific exploration, and failed to report to Starfleet Headquarters upon arrival at Lacerta. The Dublin arrived at the last known coordinates of the Gnu/Sirsus; a short
communication indicated that a micro subspace fissure was opening.  No further communication has been received from the Dublin since.  A "Notice to Report" has been issued by Starfleet Headquarters to all active fleet, allied, and civilian vessels if any information can provided of the three missing ships.

5th Fleet:

A distress call was recently answered by the USS Quirinus from a civilian craft in orbit of a non-colonized planetoid in the Aquilae Star Cluster. While the craft was not present, inhabitants from the craft were rescued off the planet. Ironically, they turned out to be former crewmembers of the Quirinus currently on "forced leave." The planetoid soon imploded, releasing approximately 100 gigantic objects which have escaped into warp speeds heading in multiple directions. The objects cannot be detected by normal means, and are believed to be on trajectories toward Earth space, Bajor, Qo'nos, et al. Any craft that do encounter them are to immediately report their positions to the nearest Federation comunication relay station.
In related matters, a former officer of the Quirinus was under investigation for the murder of a psychologist on Earth working with her. She was broken out of the Earth security facility she was being held at by another ex-Quirinus officer. Both are currently on the run. Information has been gathered that relates to the supposed murder, and is under investigation.

Contact with the USS Cherokee has been lost.  At last contact, the Cherokee had begun a patrol of the Gamma Quadrant when they discovered a small power drain taking place on the ship.  Starfleet is looking into the possibility of sending a search party through the Bajoran Wormhole, but at this time, there are not enough available ships to conduct the search.

USS Claymore is currently in orbit of Tucker's Planet, an applicant world for Federation membership.  Claymore is evaluating Tucker's Planet for the Federation Council's final decision on membership.  Starfleet is not expecting a report from USS Claymore for at least another week.

The USS Sharikahr has been reported missing near the Tendara cluster. Starfleet has dispatched the science vessel USS Sarek near their last reported position to investigate. More on this as further details are made available

The USS Luna was most recently dispatched to locate the missing USS Vesuvius.  Upon arriving at the last known coordinates of the Vesuvius, the Luna sent out a brief message before disappearing as well.  Given the recent "wave" of starships mysteriously missing in various Federation theatres of operation, Starfleet Command, and indeed Starfleet Intelligence as well, has become gravely concerned. As a result, we are now mobilizing fleets of available vessels in hopes of finding our missing starships and thier crews with the fullest intent of bringing them home.

7th Fleet:

The USS Broadsword and the USS Victoria have parted from each other again. The Broadsword is now staying behind alone while the crew investigates Victoria and the events surrounding her. An away team was sent over and subsequently managed to disable the auto-destruct sequence. Broadsword's crew is now attempting to gather more information, but an imminent assault by hostile Crecy crewmembers is hindering progress.
Meanwhile, a runabout manned by the first officer has started pursuit of a Klingon shuttlecraft, carrying another Broadsword crewmember. Whether this rescue attempt will succeed is unclear at this time.

Following her rescue by the USS Broadsword from an attack by an unknown enemy, the USS Victoria is putting in for repairs at Atlantis
Station. Victoria is expected to be docked for the next few weeks while station engineers make a more detailed assesment of her damage and
command takes the time to assign replacement personnel. The Judge Adocate General's office has also set up a formal board of
inquiry to determine that the losses sustained were in fact unavoidable. Senior officers are being questioned and results will be released before the Victoria leaves port.

The USS Hercules is in orbit around the planet Ynaria IV.  Having been rescued from a Tholian Web by the USS Shrike, repair teams have been dispatched to the Hercules.
Planetside, the Hercules' Commanding Officer remains in custody for the murder of the planet's regent while the away team investigates before the Captain's trial.
Additionally, a Hercules shuttle carrying the senior tactical and science officers, and the Counselor's chief assistant crashed just outside Ynaria IV's capital city.  Part of the original away team already planetside has been dispatched to investigate.

The USS Perseus arrived safely at Tirgarridian Prime only to find that the system was deserted. Perseus tried hailing the planet, but there
was no response. To make the situation more puzzling, the planet could not be effectively scanned due to dense radiation present in the upper atmosphere. Perseus had no choice but to send an away team to the surface. However, once the team transported onto the surface, the Perseus lost all contact with them. While trying to reestablish contact, the Perseus was intercepted by three Tassian vessels. They are claiming that the Federation crew has committed murder and shall be charged according to Tassian law. Needless to say, based on this report, Command is monitoring this situation carefully.

8th Fleet:

The USS Iceni has entered Sector X3F where the USS Karelian has been reported missing. The Iceni has since scanned the location where the explosion originated and has yet to discover any additional data. Remnants of the USS Karelian nor the previously reported Cardassian vessel have been discovered. The Iceni will continue its investigation of this strange situation.

The USS Minotaur remains out of contact with Starfleet.  Her last known action was entering a nebula on the fringes of known space in pursuit of a possible first contact scenario.  No investigative action is being taken by Command at this time.

9th Fleet:

The Gorn Battle Fleet continues to engage Denali Station and several 9th Fleet defenders. No further transmissions are presently forthcoming, or expected, from the station during the duration of the siege.

With their away team back aboard, the decision was quickly made for the crew of the USS Itasca to use the derelict Gorn vessel, found in the Calabi-Yau Expanse as a strategic 'Trojan Horse' on their mission to penetrate Gorn military defenses. Sending an engineering detail back over to the ship, efforts were immediately put underway to shore-up the damage delivered to the Gorn ship by the USS Charlestown and restore the ship to full combat readiness. With the Gorn starship now being towed towards the border, the Itasca senior staff plans to beam over and use the ship to penetrate deep behind Gorn defenses and liberate the legitimate Gorn leaders exiled to the planet Pranooda. Meanwhile, the Itasca itself will remain behind, patrolling the border, and awaiting the return of its away team.

The USS Katana and her task force have pursued a Gorn starship that was damaged during the battle for Denali Station into the Bellatrix system. It was there where the ship's propulsion and life support systems failed. Seizing the opportunity, several away teams from the Katana have transported aboard the Gorn ship. The situation on board is perilous at best. Though the majority of the crew was willing to surrender, there are pockets of gorn resistence throughout. One such pocket is known to contain a Gairn.  At the moment, three tactical teams are coordinating a joint assault on this group with the intent on a live recovery of the Gairn agent.
Another team is examining the Paranethrean weapon. However, it has been discovered that the weapon has been damaged beyond repair and cannot be sabotaged. Any attempt to use or examine the device would result in an explosion that will destroy the Gorn ship and any ships in the immediate area. Another away team has discovered a detailed intelligence report in the Gorn computer system revealing that the Gorn have nearly completed a prototype of the Paranethrean weapon that can easily be mass produced and installed on smaller Gorn ships than have been assigned to it at this point.
Ultimately, Katana's intent is to send an insertion team to Azurath to make contact with the Azurath Resistance to coordinate an assault while the Katana's crew attempt to restore the Gorn ship’s propulsion and send the ship into the Azurath system and initiate the Paranethrean weapon. In essence, the idea as Command interprets it is to use the Gorns' own sabotage against them to take out their orbital defenses while executing a simultaneous ground assault.
Past lessons learned from the initial battle at Chin'toka in 2374 will more than likely prove critical in rendering this latest planetary assault operation a success.

10th Fleet:

The USS Rodger Young has secured the assistance of a Klingon vessel and her crew to help explore the mysterious USS Olympus spaceframe and to track down its missing crewmembers.  Initial intelligence reports indicate that the missing Olympus crew disappeared without a trace, but a recently captured weapon may provide insightful clues that may lead to the recovery of said crew.

The USS Pavonis is 24 hours away from the Romulan Neutral Zone.  They have discovered that the virus that was released on Starbase 718 originated on planet Iota Pavonis IV.
The details of how and why the virus was created and released have been uncovered.  Several years ago, a Ferengi Freighter was chased into the Neutral Zone after unlawfully liberating several genetic experiments from a Federation science vessel.
The Ferengi freighter crashed on Iota Pavonis IV releasing the experiments.  The virus is a mutation of the Phyrox Plague, a disease in which the mortality rate is notoriously high.  Those few that manage to survive its effects are scarred and debilitated for life.  The only cure is on Iota Pavonis IV in the form of an indigenous plant.
At last report, the current deathtoll count on Starbase 718 is over 10,000. Time is indeed most certainly running out.

The USS Columbia and the USS Wintu are now docked at McKinley Station.  They have returned home from their trip to the past and the wormhole that made their journey possible has been closed.  External repairs on the Columbia have begun. However, the ship's crew is on temporary lockdown pending an investigation by the Department of Temporal Investigations.  The DTI has been given orders to check for possible foul play in the Columbia's recent adventure to Earth's Ancient Egypt circa 2,000 B.C.  Once the staff has been interviewed, the lockdown will be lifted if Starfleet Command is satisfied with the results. In spite the current circumstances, however, the Columbia crew was allowed to give a memorial service for their lost comrades during their recent time jaunt.
